UPDATED: Man Wanted for June Murder in Dover Returned to Dover PD

UPDATED – 8-24-18 – The man identified as a suspect in a shooting death at the Liberty Court Apartments in June has been returned to Delaware.  Dover Police took custody of 42 year old Timothy Safford Friday.  He is charged with 1st degree murder and weapons offenses.  He’s being held at the VCC in default of over $1-million cash bond.

UPDATED 7-30-18 – Dover Police say that Timothy Safford, who is wanted for a murder that occurred on Friday, June 22nd, 2018, has been arrested.  Members of the United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force took Safford into custody in the 300 Block of Van Buren Street NW, Washington D.C.  He was arrested without incident.  Safford is currently being held pending his extradition to Delaware.

Dover Police have identified a suspect in the shooting death a week ago of 41 year old Sylvester Lee of Clayton.  Police are looking for 42 year old Timothy Safford of Dover.  They say that he and the victim were arguing as they walked towards Lee’s vehicle when Safford shot Lee.  Safford is wanted for 1st degree murder and weapons offenses.  If you know where he is – contact Dover Police or Crime Stoppers.
