DPH confirms person contracted West Nile Virus in DE


Delaware’s first case of West Nile Virus in humans in 2 years has been confirmed. Delaware’s Division of Public Health has announced  yesterday lab results confirmed the virus was detected in a 70-year old Kent County woman. She was briefly hospitalized, but officials say she is now recovering at home. DPH Director Dr. Karyl Rattay says it’s a reminder to people that during warm falls like this year, its important to continue to protect yourself from mosquitoes.
