Eastern Shore native nominated to run Health and Human Services

President Donald Trump has picked Salisbury native Alex Azar II as his choice to run the Department of Health and Human Services. Azar grew up in Salisbury, attending Park Side High School before attending Dartmouth and Yale Law School. After graduating clerked for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and worked in the office of Ken Starr during the first two years of the Whitewater Investigation. He then served as General Counsel for HHS before joining Pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Company, as a Senior Vice President, eventually being promoted to president. If confirmed, Azar will be replacing Secretary Tom Price, who resigned after use of private jets for government business raised eyebrows.
