Felton Man Arrested After Police Pursuit in Millsboro

Delaware State Police have arrested a Felton man after he failed to stop and was found in possession of drugs.

The incident took place in the early morning hours of Monday, April 22 around 12:21 a.m. when a Trooper observed a GMC Yukon traveling above the speed limit on John J. Williams Highway in the Maryland Camp Road area. Following a traffic stop, the driver failed to comply and threw objects out of the window. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the parking lot of Mountaire. The driver, identified as 38-year-old Michael Dennis was taken into custody after Troopers conducted a DUI investigation due to an alcohol odor detected.

Items thrown out of the windows include 2.62 grams of cocaine. The suspect was found in possession of over 3,500 dollars in suspected drug proceeds.

The suspect was charged with possession with intent to deliver of a controlled substance, disregard to a police officer signal, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance, driving a vehicle under the influence, driving while suspended, speeding in excess of posted limits and various other traffic related offenses.

Dennis was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution of 4,353 dollars secured bond.
