Final phase of Salisbury Bypass begins; work zone speed limits reduced

rita-crosby-promo

Speed limits are being reduced along the work zone of the Salisbury Bypass, starting this morning. MDOT crews are entering the final phase of a $24 million project to rehab 11 bridges along the route 50 corridor, and the decreased speed limits reflect an increase in crews and equipment working near travel lanes. The Work zone speed limits will be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph, and will apply to both northbound and southbound lanes from Parker Pond to the Norfolk Southern Railroad overpass. Motorists should stay alert while driving through the work zones. Remaining work includes setting steel beams and pouring concrete for abutments, walls and bridge decks.
