Frankford decides to outsource police coverage to the State

Frankford is going to outsource its police operations to Delaware State Police. The Town Council reached the decision at this months meeting. Sussex Post reporting Frankford will begin with a 12-hour a week contract with state police at $86 an hour, or about $53,000 a year. If the coverage is sufficient, the town would come in more than $23,000 under budget for police operations. Had frankford accepted Dasgsboro’s proposal to merge police departments, it would have cost them more than $120,000 annually.
