Group to study Delaware’s wind industry

Delaware Governor John Carney established an offshore wind working group to study the environmental and economic benefits of offshore wind farms. The group will have its first meeting next month. As part of its scope the group will review laws and regulations that pertain to developing renewable energy sources and recommend changes. Also, they will work to pinpoint barriers and opportunities that would come from developing offshore wind farms. The group will submit a study to Governor Carney by December 15 with short term and long term strategies for developing a wind power industry in Delaware.
