Harrington Man, Mother Arrested For Selling Stolen Goods

A Harrington man and his mother were arrested Tuesday in connection with a rash of thefts in the area. 31-year-old Christopher Santiago stole air conditioners and scrap metals from homes on East Center Street and Commerce Street and sold them at scrap yards. Police learned that his 65-year-old mother, Theresa Groves, helped Santiago sell these stolen items. Santiago also had a warrant in Milford. The pair were pulled over and arrested on West Liberty Street. Groves was charged with selling stolen property and later released on $500 bond. Santiago was charged with multiple counts of theft, burglary and criminal trespass and is being held at SCI on $6,600 bond.
