IRSD To Host Public Meetings on Referendum

The Indian River School District will host four public meetings in January to highlight the major capital improvement and current expense referendum scheduled for Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

The meeting schedule is as follows:
– January 7 – Sussex Central High School, 6:00 p.m.
– January 16 – Georgetown Middle School, 6:00 p.m.
– January 23 – Indian River High School, 6:00 p.m.
– January 30 – Lord Baltimore Elementary School, 6:00 p.m.

At each meeting, district officials will give a presentation outlining the referendum initiatives. The public will have the opportunity to ask questions.

The referendum will seek funding for the construction of a new Sussex Central High School, an eight-classroom addition at Indian River High School and a four-classroom addition at Selbyville Middle School. Residents will also be asked to approve funding for staff, curriculum, supplies, transportation and utility expenses for a high school and elementary school.
