Judge To Make Decision Thursday On Teenage Fight Case

Three teenage girls will find their fate out this week in the death of a fourth girl in a bathroom at Howard High School in Wilmington. The three girls, all 17-years-old, are being tried as juveniles in the death of Amy Joyner-Francis. The girls got in a fight with Joyner-Francis, who died of cardiac arrest from an undiagnosed heart condition. All three girls are charged with criminally negligent homicide. The girls’ lawyers are claiming that Joyner-Francis willingly joined in the fight and her death was not expected. The judge will have to decide whether the girls acted out of standard of conduct and if they should be held to different standards since they are teenagers before making a decision.
