The first of multiple trials for three of the defendants involved in the prison riot at the Vaughn Correctional Institution in February of 2017 ended last week.   Officials in the Attorney General’s office tell WGMD that Judge Carpenter is working with counsel to determine the start date and defendants who will be tried in the second trial to determine who was involved in the kidnapping of 4 correctional officers and the murder of Lt. Steven Floyd.  After all the trials have been completed, a sentencing date will be determined for those who have been found guilty.
