Jury at impasse in NJ Senator’s corruption trial

The corruption trial of New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez is at a standstill. The Jury told the judge yesterday they cannot come to an agreement on the corruption charges. CNN reporting US District Judge William Walls told the jury to clear their heads and return today to continue the deliberations. One juror who was dismissed passed a note to the judge predicting a hung jury in the case. Senator Menendez is accused of accepting bribes from a Florida eye doctor in exchange for political favors. Both men deny the charges, and say they are just friends which explains the gifts and vacations Sen. Menendez received.
