Laurel Rapist Sentenced – Discover Jamaican Citizen Also Wanted in Canada

A Laurel man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for raping and teenage girl and getting her pregnant. The 42 year old man, known as Omar Cameron, pleaded guilty last December, but before he was sentenced it was found he lied about his identity and is actually a Jamaican citizen named David Grant. Officials learned that Grant had a prior sexual assault conviction in Canada and moved to the US several years later while still on probation. Grant’s arrest for sexual assault and violation of probation are still pending in Canada.
