MAryland Budget Passes In House

The FY 2018 Maryland budget passed its first hurdle Thursday by passing in the House by a vote of 135-6. The Delegates passed the $43.5 billion budget that will now be sent to the Senate for consideration. While the budget passed, lawmakers are concerned about how decreases in the federal budget will affect the state budget. After the budget goes to the Senate, the two sides will come together and work out the differences before the final vote at the end of session in April.
