Maryland commences “Year of Frederick Douglass”

2018 is the Year of Frederick Douglass. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan making the proclamation yesterday in order to celebrate the Eastern Shore native’s 200^th birthday, which is today. Maryland’s Lt Governor, Officials from Talbot County, and descendent of Douglass will gather today for the groundbreaking of a new park in Queen Anne, called: “Frederick Douglass Park on the Tuckahoe”, which is less than a mile from Frederick Douglass’ birthplace along the Tuckahoe River.
