Governor Larry Hogan has ordered Maryland Flags to half-staff in honor of R. Clayton Mitchell, the former Speaker of the Maryland House, who died Thursday at the age of 83.  Speaker Mitchell leaves an indelible mark on Maryland through his countless contributions which include fighting to modernize Maryland’s transportation infrastructure.  Last year Governor Hogan dedicated the Route 50 Bridge over the Kent Narrows in Speaker Mitchell’s honor.  Flags will return to full staff at sunset on the day of his internment, Friday, June 21st.
