US District Court Judge Sue Robinson has amended her opinion of the US Postal Service after a lawsuit involving a Magnolia woman who bakes and sends fruitcakes. A lawsuit was filed by 88 year old Lucille Greene against the US Postal Service when she went to mail a package of fruitcakes in 2002 and was asked by the clerk what kind of explosives she had in the box. Robinson dismissed the lawsuit earlier this year, but did criticize the post office for not apologizing which just added to the postal service’s quote ‘lamentable reputation.’ Robinson has now dropped the words ‘lamentable reputation’ from her opinion after the government objected, but still feels an apology should still be given to Greene.
