Ocean City performing regular landscaping checks

The town of Ocean City is about to begin inspecting your landscaping to make sure its up to snuff. Every three years the city sends out workers to canvass the town to make sure everyone has landscaping that properly reduces noise pollution, storm runoff, prevents erosion and artificial light glare, among other things. If found to be out of code you’ll receive a notice in the mail detailing the offense with a 60 day compliance period. Ocean City Environmental Engineer Gail Blazer says there are grant and rebate programs available to property owners to assist with planting landscaping.

For more information about the landscaping ordinance and associated rebate programs call Gail Blazer in the Engineering Department at (410) 289-8825.
