One Person Dead Following Seaford Crash

Delaware State Police say their Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash.

The incident took place last Wednesday, March 6th around 9:47am on King Road just South of Dove Road in Seaford. Authorities say a 2004 Dodge Neon was traveling northbound when a 2005 Pontiac Vibe had just pulled from a private driveway on King Road and was slowly accelerating in a northerly direction. The driver of the Dodge applied their brakes but was unable to avoid striking the rear of the Pontiac.

The driver of the Dodge, a 34-year-old male from Bridgeville was properly restrained and not injured.

The operator of the Pontiac, 79-year-old Sandra Johnson of Seaford was properly restrained and transported via aviation unit to Christiana Hospital in critical condition. She succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

The crash remains under investigation.
