While ocean outfall has been approved in Rehoboth to dispose of the resorts treated wastewater – Commissioner Kathy McGinnis Friday told WGMD’s Mike Bradley that there still may be other – less costly – options for the city. In 2014 residents approved spending $52.5-million for the ocean outfall method, but McGinnis has learned of other possibilities – that would also be more environmentally friendly as well. Final permits for the ocean outfall option are expected to be approved later this year. DNREC has ordered disposal of treated wastewater into the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal to end in 2018. McGinnis will be on the air with Mike Bradley Monday morning on 92-7- the Talk of Delmarva.
