PA man arrested after shooting in Georgetown


A man from Philadelphia was arrested this weekend after firing a weapon at the Classic Motel in Georgetown. On Sunday evening around 6:30 PM, Georgetown Police received a call reporting shots fired at the motel off S Dupont Highway. Investigations revealed David Tharpe drove his Ford Expedition into the parking lot of the motel, approached someone while brandishing a firearm before firing at the victim. The victim was not struck, and Tharpe fled the scene. Georgetown Police working with Delaware State Police located the suspects’ car in Oak Orchard, where police arrested Tharpe for first degree assault, reckless endangering and other charges. He is being held on $45-thousand Secured bond.
