UPDATE: Verizon FiOS reports the damaged section of fiber has been replaced and all services restored by 3am Saturday.

A pole fire in the vicinity of Banks Road and Rt 24 Thursday evening has caused the loss FiOS phone and internet services to over 4,000 customers in the Long Neck, Lewes and Milton areas.  Indian River VFC was called just before 11pm for this fire.

This includes WGMD. We are employing back-up systems in order to provide basic services to the radio station and hope to have addition services available by Saturday morning.
