Prevailing wage hearing postponed after lawmakers protest

Delaware governor John Carney scuttled a public hearing regarding the prevailing wage law scheduled for next week. State republicans requested the meeting be postponed after the Department of Labor proposed changes the prevailing wage policy a week after the general assembly adjourned for the summer. The Republicans also contended the public hearing was scheduled in the late afternoon on a Friday in the middle of summer to skirt public scrutiny.  The Department of labor says the proposal meant to put into regulation what is already current practice, not to change or amend the law in any way.
