A Rehoboth Beach man has been arrested after a traffic stop that led to an assault on a Trooper.   Delaware State Police say just before 5pm Thursday a Trooper spotted a pickup driving erratically in the area of Hudson and Cave Neck Roads.  As the trooper turned around – the pickup truck rear-ended a Jeep at the intersection.   The trooper smelled alcohol coming from the driver of the pickup, 35 year old Edwin Alarcon – who became disorderly and threatened to kill the trooper.  Then put his truck in drive and headed towards the Trooper – and struck a Prius that was stopped in traffic – which went into the Trooper’s unmarked Tahoe.  Alarcon continued to resist, struck a trooper in the face, but was eventually arrested.  He faces multiple charges including DUI and 2nd degree assault with injury to a law enforcement officer.   The trooper sustained minor injuries – the other drivers were not injured.
