A retired civilian employee of the Delaware State Police has been arrested for theft under false pretense and falsifying business records.  Police learned that in November of 2017, 62 year old Carl Rone of Philadelphia was not reporting to work when scheduled.  The investigation showed that for about 79 days in 2016 and 2017, Rone turned in signed DSP time sheets and was paid over $30,000 for work that was not performed.  A Kent County Grand Jury indicted Rone this week – he turned himself in to police today (Tuesday) and was charged.  Rone had been employed full time as a forensic firearms examiner and established the Forensic Firearms Services Unit in Dover.  He has been released on bond.
