A 19-year-old man was seriously injured after the riding mower he was driving was struck by a Toyota Carina. It was reported just before 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 28800 block of Lewes-Georgetown Highway near Joseph Road west of Lewes.
The teen was reportedly confused after being briefly unconscious. He had been struck and thrown about 10 feet off the riding mower, suffering a bruise to his head.
The 29-year-old driver of the Toyota was also injured. He suffered a busted lip and bloody nose after his airbag deployed.
Master Corporal Gary E. Fournier, state police spokesman, says the driver of the Toyota was charged with Driving without a Valid License, No Proof of Insurance, No Registration in Possession, and Unreasonable Speed.
Both men were taken to Beebe Hospital. Injuries were reported as non-life threatening.
