Salisbury Cuts Taxes For First Time

For the first time in city history, Salisbury is giving its residents a tax cut. Salisbury Mayor Jake Day announced the tax cut during his proposed budget Wednesday. The tax cuts gives just under seven percent back to homeowners and 11 percent to businesses. Because more full-time residents are moving in, there are more tax payers available, allowing less taxes per household to be collected. Mayor Day said that no jobs will be slashed in order to pay for this tax cut.
