Laurel Police have arrested a Salisbury man following a stabbing on Tuesday.

Authorities say a man was stabbed near the Carvel Gardens Apartment complex off of Route 13. 21-year-old Stefone Belong was located and taken into custody shortly after the incident. Police say Belong had the suspected weapon in his possession, which helped them connect him to the crime scene. Belong also was found with possession of marijuana.

The victim, who has not been identified received treatment at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. He suffered severe wounds to his head and face. The victim informed authorities he didn’t know why he was attacked and did not know the suspect.

Belong was arraigned on several charges and placed on 121,000 dollars cash bond. He’s being held at the Sussex Correctional Institute in Georgetown.
