Salisbury Man Facing Assault For Throwing Coffee On Cop

A Salisbury man is facing assault charges after he threw hot coffee on a Wicomico County Sheriff’s officer. 57-year-old Donald Smullen was being evicted from his house on the 400 block of Oriole Place when he started cursing about the landlord and said he wasn’t leaving. Lieutenant Tim Robinson was trying to escort Smullen away from the house when he threw the coffee at Robinson. Robinson tried to arrest Smullen, but he resisted. After the struggle, Robinson was able to get Smullen in cuffs. Smullen was charged with assault and disturbing the peace.
