Serious crash in Millsboro sends woman to Christiana Hospital

Police investigating a serious crash in Millsboro. Around noon yesterday a Dagsboro woman ran a red light while taking a left hand turn out of the Peninsula Crossing shopping center and onto Route 113. She crossed right into the path of an oncoming tractor trailer, which struck her vehicle on the driver side door. The woman was taken to Beebe Medical Center before being transferred to Christiana Hospital in serious condition. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Police closed the roadway for about 2 and a half hours while investigating and clearing the scene.
