A Smyrna man was arrested just hours after he robbed a Citizen’s Bank in town. 31-year-old Voncel Tate went into the bank on West Commerce Street just before 10 a.m. on Thursday wearing a mask. He went up to the teller and demanded money. Tate got the money and ran from the bank. That’s when the dye pack in the money exploded inside his clothes. Tate threw the clothes and money away and ran away. Witnesses helped police track Tate to a shed on the 100 block of Lincoln Street, where he was hiding in the rafters. Tate was arrested and charged with second degree robbery and wearing a disguise and is being held on $12,000 bond.
