A toddler and her grandmother were struck by a truck in Ocean City this evening. The grandmother had been pushing the girl in a stroller across Baltimore Avenue near 1st Street when they were struck by a truck traveling approximately 40-45 m.p.h. around 9:40 p.m. Incredibly, despite the girl being thrown about 10 feet from the stroller, the injuries were not more serious.
A state police helicopter landed at the Coast Guard station and flew the girl to a trauma center. She was conscious with a cut to her eye. Her grandmother suffered even less serious injuries.
