Trump EPA Cuts Would Hurt Chesapeake Bay

The budget cut on science and environmental programs proposed by President Donald Trump would impact Delmarva significantly. Trump is planning to cut the EPA budget from $8.1 billion to $5.7 billion in the coming years, which would oust about 20 percent of the agency’s current workforce. It would also eliminate funding for regional programs, which include the clean-up of the Chesapeake Bay. This plan would slash funds for the Clean Power Plan, which would significantly damage the Chesapeake Bay efforts that have been in place the last few years.
