UPDATED: Crash & Broken Utility Pole Shut Down Dorman Road Most of Saturday

UPDATED 4/7/19 – 10AM – Dorman Road in the Angola area was closed for much of the day Saturday after a crash that occurred around 2am. Delaware State Police tell WGMD that when they arrived on the scene they found a car had struck and broke a utility pole and the wires were down. There was no one in the car. The driver – a 34 year old man from Frankford turned himself in to police later in the day and he was cited for leaving the scene and other offenses. Dorman Road was reopened around 4pm.

A crash just after 2am in the area of Dorman Road and Lakewood Drive has closed roads in that area west of Lewes. According to the DelDOT website, the crash took down a pole and wires in that area. Emergency personnel were on the scene for nearly 2 ½ hours, however as of 5:30 this morning, DelDOT still had Dorman Road blocked off so that the damaged pole and wires could be repaired.
