WGMD Fishing Report 05-06-18

Saturday was a bit gray and cool, but the fishing did improve.  Sunday looks to be equally nice so get out and do some fishing.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said Mark Brown caught a 7.66-pound citation tog while fishing aboard the Katydid.  The boat had a good number of tog.  The Grizzly brought in a 2.78-pound porgy caught by Karel Hitchens.  I saw on their Facebook page that two anglers caught a limit of flounder out of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal on Wednesday.

More good news from the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park.  Lighthouse View Tackle Shop reported blues to 10 pounds caught from the beach alongside the pier.  Poppers and cut bunker have been effective.  Those fishing from the pier caught a few more keeper flounder.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle the report was more black drum from the surf on clams and sand fleas.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em Lauren told us the No Limit was still out, but had radioed in that they had a catch of tog.   A few blues were caught from the south pocket.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
