Sunday was another cool and gray day, but the wind stayed down and fish were caught.

In the Upper Bay and Lower Delaware River a few big rockfish have been taken.  George at Eastern Marine checked in a 28 and a 37-inch rock for Jim Shanahan caught on bunker at the yellow Can.  Steve at Smith Bait saw Adan Dulin’s 28 and 41-pound rockfish caught at the Submerged Jetty at Augustine Beach on bunker.  Captain Len Karpen took the FOMO up to Pea Patch Island to catch a 30-pound rockfish.

According to Lighthouse View Tackle more big blues have been caught on fresh bunker from the beach next to the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State park as well as from the pier.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us the hickory shad made a good showing at Indian River Inlet on Sunday morning.  A few keeper tog were pulled from the inlet on sand fleas and green crabs.  The all-day head boat from Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em with Captain Christopher Adams came in with a limit of tog to eight pounds.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
