WGMD Fishing Report 11-1-18

bill-o

Thursday was warm and sunny, but with southwest winds howling between 20 and 30 knots small craft advisories were up all day and will continue into Friday and Saturday.  Sunday looks to be the next fishable day.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina and Lauren at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em both reported no boats sailed on Thursday.

At Old Inlet the report remained the same.  Small blues and short tog out of the inlet.  At Massey’s Ditch, pier fishermen are catching lots of small tog on sand fleas and green crabs.  A very few flounder remain in the Back Bays.

With heavy rain scheduled for most of Friday and part of Saturday even freshwater and inlet fishermen will probably stay at home.  It’s one thing to get wet when catching big rockfish and blues, but an entirely different thing to get wet and catch nothing or tiny tog.

I have no idea where all the small tog have come from or where the big ones are, but it appears there was an excellent year class of tog at some point to generate all these small fish.  This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD Fishing Report.
