WGMD Fishing Report 11-18-18

Hermann-Financial

Sunday was another good weather day and we had a few decent reports from the bay and the ocean.

Captain John Nedelka on the Karen Sue said his day began slow with nothing but spiny dogfish, but as the water cleared the tog turned on and he ended the day with a good catch to nine pounds.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina told us the Katydid had another good catch of sea bass as did the Portabella.

At Dan’s Tackle we learned that one of their customers has been trolling around the Crossledge and catching some keeper rockfish.  The keepers have been in the 28 to 30-inch range.  Another customer, trolling near Brandywine Light, caught several shorts in the 24 to 27-inch range.  Bennett’s Pier has seen good white perch fishing with bloodworms the top bait.

Over in the Chesapeake Bay, the best of the rockfish action has been in the Middle Bay between Solomon’s and Point Lookout.  Trolling in deep water along channel edges with tantum nine-inch shads in shad color with a purple head has been the top technique.
