WGMD Fishing Report 11-25-18

Sunday saw marginal fishing conditions and not many boats took the chance.  A gale warning is up for Monday so I doubt anyone will be fishing today.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said he had one boat out fishing the Outer Wall for tog and when he spoke with the captain via VHF radio they hadn’t had a single bite.  This is not surprising considering the two inches of rain we had on Saturday along with gale force winds that left the water pretty dirty.  It takes at least two tide cycles for the water to clear and we won’t even get one before the rain and high winds return.

The head boat out of Fisherman’s Wharf tried to fish for tog on Friday and while they did manage to get a few keepers, most of the ones they caught were short of the 16-inch minimum size.  It was so cold that they had an icing problem on the deck.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em, Chris gave us the reports from the boats that tried for swordfish on Friday.  They didn’t catch any.  It will be awhile before the weather will let them make that run again.
