Monday saw gale-force winds and heavy rain putting a halt to any fishing activity.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid came in with two citation fish on Sunday. Steve Kilber had an 8.8-pound tog and Mike Toomey had a 3.62-pound sea bass.  David and Karl Reed had a good catch of sea bass and one flounder on Sunday while fishing on the Thelma Dale out of Fisherman’s Wharf.  Captain Pete Haines on the Top Fin was able to cull out several keeper tog from a catch that was mostly shorts.

In Ocean City the Fish Bound caught several big sheepshead on Sunday.

The speckled trout action has been very good in Virginia either from Eastern Shore waters like Hungers Creek or out of Virginia Beach at Rudee or Lynnhaven Inlet.  Mir-O-Lures or jigs are always good choices for speckled trout.

Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic said he and some friends fished last Wednesday and caught some 28 to 29-inch keeper rockfish out of the Leipsic River.  Bloodworms and shrimp were the top baits.  Big white perch were also caught on this trip.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD Fishing Report.
