WGMD Fishing Report 11-6-18

Tuesday was another miserable day with heavy rain and high winds putting a halt to any fishing plans.

Bill Baker, owner of Bill’s Sport Shop, is in Christina Hospital after falling on Sunday.  He is in the ICU, but is reported to be resting comfortably.  We wish him a speedy recovery.

Don’t forget on Thursday night at 6:00 PM the Atlantic States Marine Fishery Commission will hold a public hearing in the DNREC Auditorium, 89 Kings Highway in Dover.  They will present the addenda for black sea bass, summer flounder and scup (porgy) that will be used to generate regulations into the foreseeable future.  Since most saltwater fishermen go after flounder and sea bass I would hope to see a good turnout.

The boat ramp at Phillips Landing will close on November 12 and remain closed until April 30, 2019 for a complete reconstruction.  When it reopens there will be three new boat ramps with floating docks and a kayak launching area.  The parking lot will be repaved as well.  This project has been in the works for quite a while and it is good to see it finally started.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD Fishing Report.
