WGMD Fishing Report 11-9-18

Small craft advisories were up all day Friday and gale warnings are up for Saturday.  Winds on Saturday will be northwest 20 to 25 with gusts to 35 knots.  At 4:00 PM on Friday the Delaware Lightship Buoy reported winds at 21 knots gusting to 27 with waves at 7.9 feet.  The barometric pressure was at 29.89 and falling fast.  The water temperature was 60 degrees.  It looks like another lost weekend for any type of saltwater fishing.

Depending on how much rain we get, freshwater fishing could be good in the local ponds and upper reaches of the tidal rivers and creeks.  If you can find a lee shore to soak a few worms or cut bunker it is possible to catch some white perch or catfish.  I suspect most outdoorsmen will be deer hunting or watching football as will I.

I attended the ASMFC public hearing on Thursday evening in Dover.  I must say I was disappointed that I was the only one there who was not a member of the ASMFC or worked for DNREC Fish and Game.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD Fishing Report.
