WGMD Fishing Report 12-1-18

The weather was about as good as it gets for the first day of December on Saturday and a lot of boats and a fair number of surf fishermen were on the water.  Unfortunately, most of these anglers failed to score, but a few were in the right place at the right time with the right bait.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said Joe Hux caught a 38-pound rockfish on a jig while fishing off of Wildwood, New Jersey.  Boats working the Eights came up empty.  Two citation tog came in off of the Katydid and both were caught by the same angler.  Joe McNeal had 15.5 and 10.94-pound citation winners.  The R U For Reel had some sea bass.

Lauren at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em had the real hot news as the private boat Elizabeth Ann came in with nine rockfish to 25 pounds.  They would not say where they caught their fish, but my guess would be somewhere north of Wildwood, New Jersey.  The Captain Ike had 90 pounds of sea bass.  Several private boats caught some sea bass and tog.
