Monday was the kind of day charter captains despise. The NOAA forecast called for small craft warnings and the weather turned out to be beautiful. As a captain, you have to decide what to do the night before a trip so your customers don’t get up at o’dark thirty and drive to the dock only to be told the trip has been canceled.
Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said one of their charter boats did go out, but had not returned when I called. I will have their report on Tuesday.
Lewes Harbour Marina had not seen a fish all day and due to the forecast, their boats did not sail. Old Inlet Bait and Tackle reported no fish from the beach or inlet in spite of the good weather.
Some tackle shops will be on limited hours from now until New Years. If you are looking for bait or holiday gifts it is a good idea to call your favorite shop before stopping by.
It looks like some pretty cold and windy weather for the middle of the week, but we may get back out over the weekend.
This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
