Tuesday was sort of fishable, but at this time of year very few folks are fishing making reports hard to come by.
No boats ran out of Lewes or Indian River, but the No Limit out of the river did have a good catch of tog on Monday.
The Ocean City Marlin Club is holding a striper tournament and on Monday at least three boats were able to fish. These boats brought in two or three rockfish each, which is somewhat of surprise since Indian River and Lewes boats have not had a fish since last Monday. The Ocean City fish were between 10 and 20 pounds, so no really big girls.
Cape Charles, Virginia is producing really big rockfish. I have seen photos from Chris’ Bait and Tackle of rock to 60 pounds. These fish have been caught by anglers drifting eels along the dropoff about five miles out of Cape Charles. This could continue into January.
Fishing will be on hold pretty much everywhere for the next few days as the temperature drops and the wind increases.
This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
