WGMD Fishing Report 12-19-18

Wednesday was a beautiful day and several boats went after tog.  Unfortunately, some weren’t back before the shops closed, so we will have to give you their reports on Thursday.

Amanda said the Katydid had just returned when I called and had a few tog.  The Grizzly was still out.  I stopped by Lewes Harbour Marina on Wednesday morning and both of the Angler Fleet’s boats, the Angler and the Pirate King, are on the hard.  I guess after losing the Indian to ice and snow last winter Captain Ted decided to take them out early this year.

The Morning Star out of Ocean City ran a sea bass trip on Wednesday and came back with a boat limit.  He is planning another trip for the day after Christmas.

The announcement that Parks and Recreation is planning to raise the cost of a surf fishing permit has lit up social media.  You would think $10 or $20 more was going to break these guys.  The usual comments about the non-fisherman who still pay their share.  I have yet to hear from Delaware Mobile Surf Fisherman, the largest and oldest surf fishing club in the state.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD Fishing Report
