Tuesday was a pretty good fishing day.
Julie at Lewes Harbour Marina said several private boats ran to Sea Isle City, New Jersey and returned with limits of rockfish. Even better news was Jeff Miller trolled off of the Bethany Beach condos and collected a 24-pound rockfish. A couple of other boats targeted tog, but were not back at the dock when I called. We will have their reports on Wednesday.
At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle, Jack said surf fishing continues to produce short rockfish. He did hear of one 19-inch flounder caught from the beach. The best bite has been on lures worked at daybreak.
Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em told us they checked in four rockfish caught off of Bethany Beach. They also saw some more rock, but they were caught off of New Jersey.
Keep in mind that New Jersey has different regulations that Delaware. They only allow one striper between 28 and 43 inches and one over 43 inches. If you are caught with two fish under 43 inches you will pay a big fine.
This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
