Wednesday saw reasonably good weather, but not many folks gave fishing a try.
Tom at Lewes Harbour Marina said none of the charter boats fished, but a couple of private boats did run. When we called in late afternoon none of those boats had reported back to the marina. On Tuesday Jerry Owens, Fran Okenowski, Rusty Ewing and Bob Horton had six nice rock while trolling MOJOs off of Fenwick Island. Nolan Fraser released a big rockfish.
Jack at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said it was a slow day from the beach and the inlet. They heard of a few keeper tog caught out of the Inlet rocks, but the rockfish that were in the North Pocket on Tuesday did not return on Wednesday.
Over at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em they saw a private boat come in with six rockfish caught on MOJOs and Stretch plugs off of Bethany Beach. Delaware may get some ocean run rockfish before the year is over. Back in the 1950s there were rock caught in January from the beach on bucktails as recorded by the Rehoboth Fishing Club
