WGMD Fishing Report 12-22-18

hannity-promo

Saturday saw cold and windy weather and, so far as I could tell, no one went fishing.
If you are still looking for that last minute gift, better hurry because most tackle shops will be closing early, if they will even be open, on Christmas Eve. Some will stay closed during the week between Christmas and New Year’s while other will operate on short hours.

Beginning on the first Saturday in January, The Delaware Saltwater Fly Fishermen will begin their fly tying meetings at Lewes Harbour Marina from 9:00 AM until Noon. If you have any interest at all in fly fishing, be it fresh or salt, you owe it to yourself to stop by.  These guys and gals can teach you about all aspects of this sport from what type of rod, line and reel you need to how to tie flies that will attract the fish you want to catch.

Do not feel intimidated by the image of fly fishermen as pipe smoking intellectuals standing in a clear mountain stream catching native rainbows on dry flies. If there
are any folks like that in this group, they manage to hide it well.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
