Friday saw quite a few boats take advantage of the mild weather. Many tried for rockfish near Sea Colony while a few worked inshore structure for tog.
The report from Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em was the Moon Dog came in with eight rockfish caught on MOJOs and Stretches trolled off of Bethany Beach. The Rock-N-Blues also fished off the Bethany Beach Condos and brought in two rockfish on the same lures.
No one answered the phone at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle so my guess is surf and jetty fishing were slow. I did hear of at least one jetty jockey who planned to work the inlet on Friday night. I wish him luck.
At Lewes Harbour Marina, Amanda told us Steve Rosier ran up to Wildwood, New Jersey and came home with a 36-inch rock that he caught on a MOJO. Bob Quinn fished off of Bethany Beach with a MOJO to catch a keeper rock while Jason Destafney and Anthony Brozosky released rock measuring 42 and 43.5 inches.
It looks like the weather is going to take a turn for the worst this weekend and will stay nasty until next Tuesday.
This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
